The Cheap have gotten lazier. While we love to support the local economy by purchasing our wines at area grocery stores and/or wine shops, sometimes Mike and I would prefer to just have the wine appear in our kitchen without any effort put forth at all. Along with dinner. And maybe a fancy candle or two. To that end, we decided recently to indulge our fantasy and overall laziness by placing an order of wine online, from Wine.com. We will also use this website to hunt for the wines that a lot of you have asked us to review. It makes things easier, considering the recommendations are coming in from all corners of the country. I am slap-happy for the internet.
Though Mike and I will still pick up the occasional bottle from a local store to review, Wine.com allows everyone to participate in this (very fun) blog. We will inform you of the wines we intend to purchase in advance and we invite you to join in the wine-tasting. Please share your comments and/or your own reviews! Here are the first four wines we purchased through the site and plan to review in the near future, perhaps in early March:
1. Clean Slate Riesling 2007 (item #94704, $8.79)
2. Big House Red 2006 (item #95766, $8.49)
3. Goats Do Roam 2007 Rose (item # 93831, $7.99)
4. 2 Brothers 2006 Big Tattoo Red (item #95160, $9.29)
In order to offset the shipping fees, I've included the following coupons. They expire at the end of February so please consider purchasing soon! Clicking on any of these links will take you straight to the site. We look forward to what has to be the world's first virtual wine-tasting party experience! Cheers!

Have you guys seen a chocolate wine at Total Wine? I'm dying to try it but maybe it might be a good thing to test out here. It may be over the 10 buck limit but I'll do my research and get back to you.
ReplyDeletehmmmm we were just there last Sunday and didn't see one...if you find it though, let us know! scrumptious!
